So, I've built a business for the last 9 years, from my home & over the internet. So, with my kids right beside me and in my lounge clothes, I've built an amazing business with amazing people! Now, all my girls are in school and I wanna get out! LOL! Actually, I realized that a whole new level of my business is literally waiting for me to get out! I want to meet other business people, rub shoulders, and learn from them. I want to add my value & add influence to them! So, I heard about Meetup groups and became a part of a few groups. I was able to attend one luncheon before the holidays. And then I thought, why not create my own group! So, I did! It's called The Woodlands WAHMs & we call ourselves, SheEOs. Before I realized it, I had 18 members. So, I scheduled a Meetup at Starbucks for a Thursday morning, to simply get to know one another and share our stories.
Now understand, I mentioned I've built a very successful business behind my computer and over the phone this whole time. It hasn't required me to get in front of people a whole lot, so that was my comfort zone! And, boy was I happy in my comfort zone. But, I've heard the best things lie just outside your comfort zone! So Thursday morning came and I was ready! I was a little nervous, but excited. I was deciding what to wear. I picked out a gray pair of slacks and a leopard top. I had to decide which bra and undies to wear and as I pulled my undie box out, I saw a pair that has written on the front, "I don't need a backstage pass, I am VIP!" with a bling star. And I thought... I have to wear these... I need to feel important, empowered and like I have something to offer! So, I did. And, I have to tell ya, the meeting went so well. It was amazing connecting with those other women and most importantly, I felt empowered!
So may I suggest, the next time you need a little extra confidence going into a meeting or giving a presentation, put on your Power Panties!

Do you have a "Just In Case" Plan in place?
I’ve been building my own business now for 8 ½ years. I’ve always been very consistent with working my business hours. My work ethic will just not allow me to rest, during business hours. If I’m not busy helping someone, I get restless. So I’ve always heard stories of people, building a Melaleuca business, that needed to step away for personal reasons, and they continued to receive their check, month after month. Well, I never imagined myself being in a position where I needed to slow down for personal time. But I found myself there these last few months. And, the income that I’ve built over the past several years, continued to be there for me. My great check still came in the mail, each month. I’m so thankful that I chose, in May of 2002, to build an income that I could rely on, “just in case.” What are you doing to prepare for an unexpected time? For financial security when you need it most? Do you have your “Just in Case’ Plan in place?

A Morning Break!
Kid's holiday today... sleepovers, slept in, made pancakes for them, laughed with a friend over the phone, & sipped on coffee while calling a mom to see how I can help her start her own business. Surfing the net this morning... MeetUp groups & started my own, The Woodlands WAHMs, blogs and reading posts. Some of the most creative & beautiful writing I've seen in a while (I purposed this time to surf & read, something I don't normally do) It's been an enjoyable, relaxing morning.
